This was a great couple of weeks! Students in PreK-5th went on a fun field trip to the Pistoia Zoo and learned about animals, their habitats, and our ecosystems.
Also, all students participated in a Darby Color Run. Fun was had by all! Shoutout to Conner and Emma for being recognized as the fastest runners at LEMS.
On Purple Up Day our PTSO organized a fun event. Students learned to march in formation, got to check out some military vehicles up close, and had yummy snacks provided by PTSO. Thank you to the LEMS PTSO, and a special shoutout to Ms. Hertlein for all her hard work organizing this event.
Ms. Ferreri is looking for FUN volunteers to help run the games at our annual Math Carnival which is on Friday, May 1st. The event will be held from 1:00-2:30, but volunteers are requested from 12:45-2:30. Please email her at Villet.Gethers@dodea.edu for more information or to sign up to help.
May 4-9 will be summative testing week for 3rd-8th grade students. Below are some great ways to help make sure your child is ready to test.

Student-Led Math Modeling in Middle School

Middle schoolers hosted their parents for the Student Led Math Modeling Funtime and we had a full house! Students demonstrated various methods of modeling and graphing to solve algebraic expressions, equations and inequalities in real world applications. Families rotated through two- 6th grade, a 7th grade and a High School Algebra I section. It is a marvelous and fun showcase of student learning and mastery of concepts when the students become the teacher.

Music Class Parent Visit

Special thanks to our parent visitor, Ms. H. who came to Ms. Dittrich's music class to share her love for music with our K/1 students.

Pre-K Teeth-Brushing Lesson with Nurse Angie

Our pre-K students participated in a “Healthy Smiles: How to Brush your Teeth” activity! Guided by Nurse Angie, students practiced the proper way to keep their teeth strong and their smiles bright.

4/5 Science Concentration Lesson

Fourth‑ and fifth‑grade students conducted a hands‑on investigation into solution concentration by experimenting with a variety of powdered drink recipes. They measured different amounts of powder and water, mixed their samples, compared color intensity, and evaluated flavor strength to determine how concentration affects the properties of a solution
