Pre-K through middle school students at Livorno Elementary and Middle School embraced the joy of reading during their annual Reading Week, filled with engaging and imaginative events.

Throughout the week, students participated in various spirit days, dressing up for themes such as "Book Character Day" and "Shirt with Words Day." These activities fostered a sense of community and excitement around reading.

One of the standout events was the "Book Tastings" held in the library, which was transformed into a cozy café. Students sampled different book genres while enjoying snacks, creating a delightful and educational experience.

The week also featured mystery readers and surprise D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) times, adding an element of fun and spontaneity to the festivities. These moments encouraged students to immerse themselves in their favorite books.

A highlight of Reading Week was the visits from guest readers within the community. Volunteers included the Darby base manager, base librarian, Commissary manager, parents, and other esteemed members of the Darby community who shared their love of reading with the students, making the week even more special.

Reading Week at LEMS was a resounding success, inspiring students to explore new literary worlds and celebrate the power of reading.
