Families,

As we gear up to start our DoDEA assessments after break,  here are a few resources  to help your child prepare for these online tests.

  • Edutyping- Great typing practice for K-8 students, as the assessments will be online and typing skills are a must.  All students have access through Classlink.
  • Code.org- Many fun technology games that are great for helping younger students practice drag and drop mouse skills which are essential for online assessments.  Available K-8 in Classlink.
  • Wixie- Good way to get our younger students comfortable with online tools (pens, highlighting, clicking, selecting). Available in Classlink for grades K-5.
  • Khan Academy- Great place for older students (3rd-8th) to practice Math and ELA skills they may need to work on. Available in Classlink.

Families,

For all students, K-8- please practice lines with your child over break.  This will help ensure they don't forget all that they've learned.

PreK students will learn their dance/lines after break.

Middle school parents, parts of costumes for Alice in Wonderland performance are still needed. Please ask your child what they need and help them acquire the items. Some avenues to try: ask a friend, check the back of your closet, or look in thrift shops.

Visitors and Volunteers

For the protection of students and staff, all visitors must report to the school’s front office immediately upon arriving at the school. A visitor is any person (to include parents, sponsors, and legal guardians) not enrolled or assigned to the school requesting entry to the building.

Visitors must provide authorized identification to gain access to the DoDEA school. The visitor will be issued a visitor badge that must be displayed above the waist while on DoDEA school property. The school administrator has the final determination on visitors authorized to be at the school. While on DoDEA school property, visitors may go only to the approved area indicated as their destination when signing in at the school’s front office. Any change to the designated location must be approved by the school’s front office before the visitor can access a different location within the school. When leaving the school, visitors must sign out and return the visitor's badge to the school’s front office.

Classroom Observations

Parents are welcome to visit the school and classrooms to observe the school’s programs for brief periods of time that do not interfere with instruction. Approval by the school administrator is required for this type of visitation.

We’re excited to share that DoDEA has won the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Publications and Digital Media Excellence Award – Website Award of Merit for our School Newsletters Project! This NSPRA award honors outstanding school communication efforts that help connect schools with their communities. This wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our amazing school webmasters. Thank you for keeping families connected with your hard work and heart!
