Dear Parents

LEMS has adopted a different format for the newsletter.  To be more accessible and systemic, we will be utilizing the school website to post the newsletter.  This will enable the content to be shared by more than those receiving the email, and it also allows for accessibility to previous newsletters as well.  We will continue sending a newsletter link via email for the next month.

A big welcome to Khaleesi, newest Kindergartner.  Welcome to the PRIDE!

Have a great week.

Middle School Families,

Below you will find a step by step guide on how students can give access to their parents/guardians on School Links.

Most parents/guardians should already have access from when schedules were created for students in grades 6-8.  Through this link parents/guardians will  be able to view student progress and interests.

School Links also has information on careers, colleges and universities, occupational outlook, and interest inventories.  It is a great resource for students to begin to explore career ideas.

drama updates

Families,

Play season is upon us! Performance dates will be announced soon.

K-5 students are close to being ready for their puppet show performances. Parents, please make sure you are practicing your child’s lines with them at home.

Middle school parents, parts of costumes for Alice in Wonderland performance are still needed. Please ask your child what they need and help them acquire the items. Some avenues to try: ask a friend, check the back of your closet, or look in thrift shops.

Pre-k through 5th grade students will be playing roles in the middle school’s Alice in Wonderland play. They will need to wear either all white or all black on performance day.

Visitors and Volunteers

For the protection of students and staff, all visitors must report to the school’s front office immediately upon arriving at the school. A visitor is any person (to include parents, sponsors, and legal guardians) not enrolled or assigned to the school requesting entry to the building.

Visitors must provide authorized identification to gain access to the DoDEA school. The visitor will be issued a visitor badge that must be displayed above the waist while on DoDEA school property. The school administrator has the final determination on visitors authorized to be at the school. While on DoDEA school property, visitors may go only to the approved area indicated as their destination when signing in at the school’s front office. Any change to the designated location must be approved by the school’s front office before the visitor can access a different location within the school. When leaving the school, visitors must sign out and return the visitor's badge to the school’s front office.

Classroom Observations

Parents are welcome to visit the school and classrooms to observe the school’s programs for brief periods of time that do not interfere with instruction. Approval by the school administrator is required for this type of visitation.
